Public bug reported:
After a recent Ubuntu 20.04 update, (between Oct 1 and Oct 7, I have
been unable to dual boot to Ubuntu 18.10. Ubuntu 20.04 still boots. This
happens on TWO different computer I have. The reason I run 18.10 is
because bug: "hfs+ filesystems fail reading / writing large files" has
yet to be fixed. Once a week I backup my system to a HFS+ formatted USB
Flash drive. I need this to transfer files to my Mac Mini.
The exact error is: Bad Signature /boot/vmlinix-4.18.0-25generic you
will need to reload the kernel first.
I tried booting in the safe mode. Same error.
I tried booting version vmlinix-4.18.0-24generic, same error.
Obviously, my 18.10 kernel CAN'T have changed, as it is well beyond being
updated.
Thus, I suspect that some signature file was updated WITHOUT some older
signatures.
