Public bug reported:
Happened during installation. It's the second time in a row trying to install
on my laptoo with a new SSD.
The first time installed Windows 7 first (using 30-something gb from the 480 of
my new Kingston SSD), then made the manual partitioning, begin to install and
crashed similarly.
Some years before I also tried to install this Ubuntu version and never could
because of similar problems. Ended up with 16.04.
I don't meet the system requirements for the 20.04 so after I finish this
report I'm gone go ahead and install Win7 alongside Ubuntu 16.04 (and maybe
upgrade from there, I don't know yet).
Hope this information is useful. I don't think I'm gonna be checking this
report soon but hopefully I'll remember it in the near future.
