I've done the upgrade to Linux 5.8.0-21 and had all the old buggy sympthoms. That all had been caused by the failing of the Virtualbox Guest Additions installation for Linux 5.8.0-21 during the Linux upgrade from 20 to 21. Everything was OK after: - I installed "linux-headers-5.9.0-21-generic" using Synaptic and - reinstalled the Virtualbox Guest Additions.
