It became obsolete with the vendored dependencies, I'll drop the patch
in the next upload. Thanks for pointing at it.

AFAIK this is how it should be done. Debhelper-compat is a versioned virtual 
package provided debhelper and debhelper will stop providing it when the compat 
level becomes unsupported.
Using >= would conceptually allow using unsupported compat levels.
