Just an FYI.

I noticed this first 09-25 (that I can see from comments on IRC) with a
Xubuntu QA-test (most will be in comments in QA-test reports on
iso.qa.ubuntu.com), only recently added a much later report is (now a
duplicate of this).

I got the impression the value (sound volume) wasn't always consistent
(I mainly test Lubuntu) and seemed box specific.. It'd changed mid-late
September, but I never considered this a big concern (no responses
whenever I asked on IRC, or to my lp bug report) so I never explored it
much.  It was easily worked around I felt.
