Thank you for your work on that, there is some small issues though
- you removed the ubuntu gaim.links which doesn't look correct
- there is changelog.old which seems to be a copy of the changelog and not
required
- you can't stop using the epoch number in the changelog and preinst,
downgrades are not authorized
- don't close random bug in the changelog, you can use launchpad to do that,
bugs closed in uploads should be described
- the update has no debian/copyright
