This was definitely not the case for me, as I was not able to boot with the alpha on my Acer laptop, but was with the Dec. 2 daily build. (see Bug #173329 ). The only reason that I propose the links be put up is to give a tester another chance to test development releases if the initial release doesn't "work" for them. As stated before, this could reduce the volume of bugs reported pertaining to this issue - which is always a good thing. (see Bug #173214 ) I'm recommending that the release team adds links onto the notes (not necessarily taking over the initial release links) - to what extent, it doesn't really matter - just as long as testers know that it is an option, and can be used in place of the initial release should any problems spark up. ** Description changed: Binary package hint: ubuntu-docs The Hardy Alpha 1 Release Notes do not give links to Daily and Daily- Live CD builds. As later CDs solve testing problems (not being able to boot, no xorg, etc.), giving links should help reduce the number of bugs reports on problems fixed in later releases. These should be given greater priority over the Nov.29 build. http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/hardy/alpha1 Examples of bugs fixed by recommending Live CDs (constantly updated): Bug #173214 + Bug #173329 ** Description changed: Binary package hint: ubuntu-docs The Hardy Alpha 1 Release Notes do not give links to Daily and Daily- Live CD builds.
