Public bug reported:

Building my usual multi-boot flash drives and external SSDs. 20.10 ISO
contents transferred to FAT32 flash drive. Persistence boot stanza and
persistence file "writable" created.

First boot in persistence mode works. Saved Term to favorites. Reboot
in persistence mode. Get to "try or install" screen and select try.

Fails with "failed to start Ubuntu live CD installer... failed to start
GNOME display manager" and hangs there. Can leave GUI mode via ctrl-
alt-bs or attempt reboot via ctrl-alt-del. That results in LENOVO and
Ubuntu splash and "spinner" running endlessly. Have to hard reset.

Test machine: Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 5 in UEFI boot mode.

This works as expected with 20.04.

     Importance: Undecided
