With latest kernel/updates as of 2020-11-3 12:21 JST. Ok, after changing "Config>Graphics Device" from "Discrete Graphics" to "Hybrid Graphics" in the BIOS as suggested by ArronMa the touchpad and trackpoint appear to function as expected.
