Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and make Ubuntu better.
By looking at the logs, it seems to me like this bug is a duplicate of
LP #1901708. The following excerpt is what made me reach this
conclusion:
2020-11-07T11:45:24.850554Z 4 [System] [MY-013381] [Server] Server upgrade from
'80021' to '80022' started.
2020-11-07T11:53:43.204161Z 4 [System] [MY-013381] [Server] Server upgrade from
'80021' to '80022' completed.
As you can see, the "Server upgrade" step took almost 10 minutes to
complete, which may have triggered a timeout the package has in place.
We are currently investigating why this operation is taking such a long
time to complete, but we still haven't found the root cause. You can
try working around this issue by running "apt-get install mysql-server"
again; it should succeed now.
If you don't think this bug is a duplicate of LP #1901708, or if you
have more information you can provide that would help us diagnose the
issue, please leave a comment and we will be happy to follow up on it.
Thanks.
