snort/groovy,now 2.9.15.1-2 amd64 [installed]
Symptom:
There were errors in the newly installed snort.conf that referenced
/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/
# path to dynamic preprocessor libraries
dynamicpreprocessor directory
/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu//snort_dynamicpreprocessor/
CHANGE TO:
# path to dynamic preprocessor libraries
dynamicpreprocessor directory
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/snort_dynamicpreprocessor/
# path to base preprocessor engine
dynamicengine /usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu/snort_dynamicengine/libsf_engine.so
CHANGED TO:
dynamicengine /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/snort_dynamicengine/libsf_engine.so
and then run:
/usr/sbin/snort -T -c /etc/snort/snort.conf
Snort successfully validated the configuration!
