Since it looks like
- the format of my original problem file upload is wrong (it is stored as an
HTML file; I can't get it to work)
- this behaviour is documented, and maybe LyX is not ultimately intended to
shield users from all LaTeX issues
- @andrikos has spelled out how to do what I was trying to do. Thank you!!
- it's been $>$ a decade
- I never reported it upstream?
I propose to close this! Invalid or Fix Released?
