Thanks for this bug report.
In order to get needed informations to find the cause of that bug, can
you launch gparted from a terminal and copy the output from the terminal
here in that bug report? This could give relevant data which will help.
If Gparted seems to infinitely scan your hard drive, please let it
scanning for more than 20 minutes as some outputs could appear on the
terminal only after that time will be elapsed.
