I've tested it, but it's not better than a 2.6.22 with a hacked DSDT.
The fan acts now resonable (doesn't start working insanly "for ever" once after 
the temprature dropped below 35°C) out of the box but it still never stops 
totally, as it did with a 2.6.17.

And the all C states above 0 are still missing to according to
/proc/acpi/processor/CPU0/power.  (Both with the original DSDT from BIOS
and with a "fixed up" version via /etc/initramfs-tools/)

Is there anything further I can do  to help?
