Reinstalled from Ubuntu 21.04 "Hirsute Hippo" - Alpha amd64 (20201125) with NO download updates. mouse works fine held linux-firmware package: sudo apt-mark hold linux-firmware done update+upgrade problem reappear ... so linux-firmware is not guilty
