You can boot with a cmdline option to skip that.

fsck.mode=skip
Let you skip the file system check on boot.
Can you ellaborate a bit more, and make sure that the console you are
observing is the one connected to the grub/initrd?
Is this a serial console, tty1, hvc0 or something else?
