I'm thinking that enabling socket activation was a mistake, as no other
distro I know of (besides Debian etc) do that. It also requires patching
adcli and freeipa to not put "services = ..." line on the sssd.conf or
it would fail to start.

I've uploaded 2.4.0-1 to unstable and probably will drop socket
activation in the next upload well before bullseye is frozen.
