Here an addition. I'm not sure, if no one has tested this before, but it does not seem to be mentioned here. The connection is not slow if I am not using WPA. Connecting via WEP to a Linksys 802.11bg Router / AP works fine. Connecting to a 802.11a unencrypted network is very fast, too.
