Public bug reported:
did a new install of ubuntu 20.04 and started with kernel 5.4.0-54-generic. I
came from using ubuntu 18.04 which needed to manually compile drivers to use
wifi usb adapter and was pleasantly surprised that version 20.04 supported the
ASUSTek Computer, Inc. USB-AC55 802.11a/b/g/n/ac Wireless Adapter natively.
The problem begun when a new kernel was available and upgraded to
5.4.0-56-generic, the networkmanager was not functional and got errors:
INFO: task NetworkManager:1171 blocked for more than 120 seconds.
Tainted: G OE 5.4.0-56-generic #64-Ubuntu
"echo 0 > /proc/sys/kernel/hung_task_timeout_secs" disables this message.
I thought that maybe on a new kernel release this was going to be
addressed, but I upgraded to 5.4.0-58-generic and problem persist. For
now I reverted to use kernel 5.4.0-54-generic where the USB-AC55 works.
Using Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS.
