Dear Jeremy,
Hi,
Thank you so much for contacting me.
My laptop was very badly crashed last week after Intel update.
My laptop's Ubuntu is just start running a few days ago. My laptop is Dell
XPS-13 developer edition (Ubuntu operation), but somehow, they installed new
hard disc with Windows.
I used Dell's recovery application to reinstall Ubuntu system.
I tried to fix the problem as your direction, but I received the error
message as below.
noriko@noriko-XPS-13-7390:~$ sudo apt install --reinstall backport-iwlwifi-dkms
[sudo] password for noriko:
E: Could not get lock /var/lib/dpkg/lock-frontend - open (11: Resource
temporarily unavailable)
E: Unable to acquire the dpkg frontend lock (/var/lib/dpkg/lock-frontend), is
another process using it?
Ubuntu asked me to report the problem, so I filled the form.
I am glad I had done because I didn't know without your notification. This is
running little bit funny.
I am experiencing regularly that the double click is not always working. I
tried to fix the issue at settings, but it comes back over and over.
If you have any suggestion for the problem, please provide me your guidance.
I have an exam tomorrow, so I would like to fix after it. Therefore, you don't
need to provide me the advice immediately.
Thank you so much.
Regards,
Noriko

Subject: [Bug 1908802] Re: backport-iwlwifi-dkms 7841-ubuntu2~ubuntu18.04.1:
backport-iwlwifi kernel module failed to build
I would try
sudo apt install --reinstall backport-iwlwifi-dkms
Reboot, for some reason you don't have the latest version of the package from
bionic updates that is version 7906-0ubuntu4~18.04.2
