I can confirm this behavior too. I run Kubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon), Amarok 1.4.7 with libxine 1.1.7-1ubuntu1, crossfading set to 1000ms, but this bug was present in previous release, Fiesty Fawn, too. Also, I found this bug report on other bugtrackers too (archlinux, osdir, even kde), so this issue is obviously not ubuntu only problem.
