Hello!
This problem just occured with my Ubuntu 7.10.
If i disconnect the computer from the network and boot-up, the keyboard works
while booting (can switch numlock on and off) but short before the login screen
comes up it freezes.
On the login screen mouse works and i can restart the system clicking "restart"
or shut it down!
The problem was solved when i connected the computer to the network again and
restarted it!
Network connection used: eth0 Intel Pro 100Mbit
Keyboard used: Standard PS/2 Keyboard
