Public bug reported:
I couldn't completely install the server. Mysqld was installed so I
tried starting it. It reported "segmentation fault". So I examined
mysqld with the file utility which reported that it was a shared object.
I then downloaded the package directly from the ports.ubuntu.com pool,
extracted mysqld and checked it, to determine if the provider of my
distribution altered it. The package I downloaded from the pool also
contained mysqld as a shared object.
BTW: I'm in the process of building mysql on a Tab A with 3 gig of
memory. I hope that's enough😄.
