Hi Chris, I see your point but would counter that having the option ticked for 'Suspend when laptop lid is closed' and not having it do that when an external monitor is plugged in is more a bug than a feature.
I agree that this is actually a feature some users may want but this should be something which can be controlled by the user via a toggle with the default behaviour being consistent with lid closed = suspend regardless of whether there is a monitor plugged in or not. If having a mouse plugged in prevented the laptop from suspending with the lid closed, this would certainly be a bug.
