Public bug reported:

Steps to reproduce:

1. On a touchscreen laptop, with a compatible scanner connected and
powered on, launch XSane.

2. Wait for the "scanning for devices" window to disappear, and the scan
settings window to appear.

3. On the touchscreen, touch a drop-down list in the xsane scan settings
window; for example, the "Lineart/Gray/Color" chooser.

Observed behavior: The dropdown list item that was touched goes blank,
and the entire window hangs and becomes unusable. None of the UI
elements in the window can be touched or clicked, including the "close
window" X in the upper right corner of the window. The Ctrl-Q keybinding
to quit also no longer works. But "killall xsane" does work.

System info:
Lenovo ThinkPad T14 AMD with touchscreen, 20UD0008US
Ubuntu 20.10
xsane 0.999-9ubuntu1
Epson Stylus CX4600 connected via USB

** Affects: xsane (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
