Public bug reported: Binary package hint: synaptic
I were spending some time on starting organizing which packages i normally use to install when reinstall Ubuntu, or install on a new computer - packages i always enjoy on get installed, which would be time saving if i could import them from Synaptic instead of marking to install one by one. This would illustrate better the Synaptic feature suggestion i thing is deeply needed and welcome: . http://nitrofurano.linuxkafe.com/linux/synapticimportpackages_createdtedbyhand.txt This would be a list created by hand, which we choose the packages in a more organized way, and Synaptic would be able to import it and install all them . http://nitrofurano.linuxkafe.com/linux/synapticimportpackages_exported.txt . http://nitrofurano.linuxkafe.com/linux/synapticimportpackages_simple.txt One of these could be the default installed packages list exported from Synaptic (as my suggestion) The idea is, when we import one of these txt list files, Synaptic would ask for the CDs and/or the ftp mirrors for installed all of these packages, just like we marked all them to get installed. You all can imagine how useful can it be in a room of offline computers getting installed packages synchronized without any further effort, or getting a easy reply from a friend living in the other side of the world when we ask him/her which packages got installed. ** Affects: synaptic (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- importing package txt list: the formats https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/175897 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
