Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

This package failure was due to problems with your installation media,
and subsequent squashfs errors encountered reading data from it, eg.
look in the logs and you'll see messages like these :-

Jan 14 01:43:06 ubuntu kernel: [ 534.911501] SQUASHFS error: zlib
decompression failed, data probably corrupt
Jan 14 01:43:06 ubuntu kernel: [  534.911506] SQUASHFS error:
squashfs_read_data failed to read block 0x43db3ae

Usually this means an invalid ISO, or a bad write to your install media,
usually detected during the ISO validation (prior to write;
https://tutorials.ubuntu.com/tutorial/tutorial-how-to-verify-ubuntu#0)
or the CasperMD5CheckResult which actually passed in your case.
Problems can also occur if using a VM with insufficient RAM supplied.
