Public bug reported:

The touch pad worked once and not sure what made it to work. But after that it 
just stopped working. The touchpad was not recognized by ubuntu till I edited 
default/grub added GRUB_CMD_LINUXDEFAULT="quiet splash i8042.reset i8042.nomux 
i8042.nopnp i8042.noloop"
Which made the driver to be present now I can see it in xinput --list( wasn't 
present before )
But now I still cant use the device.
