I followed the instructions at #80 under Bug 97822. That is: Disabled Legacy Mode Disabled Secure Boot both options were on the same Advanced BIOS panel. I then re-booted without success. So I went with the final bit of the instructions and re-installed Ubuntu. Success! I updated the software and re-booted. Still at full screen. Now all I have to do is get Ubuntu set up again! edids.bin was still empty.
