Public bug reported:

I had a Telegram account created via the official client (telegram-
desktop package) in Ubuntu, where I logged in using a code sent via SMS.
Using telegram-purple for the first time on another PC, I provided the
same mobile phone number, and then Pidgin asked me to input a code that
I receive via SMS. No code came via SMS. I tried a few times and still
got no code. Then I booted up the first PC, ran telegram-desktop, and
found the codes had been delivered there.
