I'm pretty sure this is not a duplicate as no one else on the other bug mention the general protection fault you're seeing.
However, I'm also not sure this is a bug, either. I installed synaptic (why not just use Muon? it's the same thing—an apt frontend—and comes with the install) and ran synaptic-pkexec and had no issues. If /var/log/installer/casper-md5check.json exists, then you skipped the file check at the beginning of the installation process and that right there may indicate you have a corrupt installation, which could explain this strange behavior. ** This bug is no longer a duplicate of bug 1875774 Lubuntu 20.04 lxqt-admin-user Action (usermod) failed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1899782 Title: lxqt-policykit-agent crashed with SIGSEGV in g_type_check_instance_is_fundamentally_a() To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxqt-policykit/+bug/1899782/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
