1) Change "Alert Sound" to , say, Drip. 2) open terminal and press "Backspace" to test Expected: Hear Drip Actual: hear default Related to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1871320 but in my case doesn't change to anything else at all even via "Default" intermediate.
