Thanks to @JayShauer's clue about evolution-alarm-notify, I finally
managed to stop the phantom reminder popups that have plagued me since
upgrading to Ubuntu 20.04.  I did it by deleting this file (which hadn't
been changed in years):
~/.local/share/evolution/calendar/system/calendar.ics

BACKGROUND: I have not used evolution for years -- I use Thunderbird now
-- but after recently upgrading to Ubuntu 20.04, I suddenly started
getting alarm popups for events that are not on my Thunderbird calendar,
but were on my evolution calendar several years ago.
