Hello Lin, Thank you very much for your answer!
I tried to follow your instructions: -The fn + F7 doesn't change anything in the mousepad, but renders the keyboard dull, i.e. I can't write anything until rebooting after I press that combination. -If I press fn + F7 on boot, the same thing happens when the computer is opened. -I tried to access the BIOS on ubuntu (with my limited knowledge, I thought it must be different from windows, still don't know if it's true or nay), and failed. -Choose the advanced settings whilst the opening computer asks me to choose between ubuntu or windows, and found nothing interesting there. So all in all, I failed to enable it. Also, a couple of days ago I realized my PC camera also isn't working :) Don't know how can I pass these obstacles. Again, thank you for your time! Best wishes Murat On Fri, 8 Jan 2021 at 07:50, Po-Hsu Lin <[email protected]> wrote: > Oops, please ignore comment #3 for now. > > I missed the Fn key part in your description: > > "I have a Fn key which I use in Windows to activate/disable the touchpad > and many other things, in Ubuntu, when I press Fn and f7 (the touchpad > activation key in my computer) all the mouse movement is disabled and I > have to restart the system." > > so do you mean it's working before you press Fn + F7 on Ubuntu? > > And after pressing it can you press it again to bring it back? > Thanks > > -- > You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to the bug > report. > https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1905446 > > Title: > Touchpad not working in Ubuntu on Acer Aspire E3-112 > > Status in linux package in Ubuntu: > Incomplete > > Bug description: > Hello y'all! > > I'm quite a newbie in Linux/Ubuntu, so please bear with me :) My > touchpad is not working.
