I just re-experienced this using hirsute daily, install on - dell [optiplex] 755 (c2d-e6850, 5gb, amd/ati radeon rv516/x1300/x1550)
I've also marked https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/calamares/+bug/1914521 a duplicate of this...
