Public bug reported: ** Background
This is raised because of a support request https://askubuntu.com/questions/1317116/kup-backup-failure (note: it was closed as off-topic; so you'll need a certain rep on askubu in order to view it) ** Issue - recommends rule for no-longer-available-package https://packages.ubuntu.com/focal/kup-backup shows "Recommends: bup : Package not available" (removed as it relied on python2.7) Sorry I'm unsure if there are any consequences, but maybe the recommends rule needs to be deleted (could also be it was left there because it makes it easier to re-introduce `bup` if it's ported to python3), OR ** Possibly filed against wrong package; `bup`? The FIX required maybe be `bup` needs to be packaged; and this report should thus be changed to be against `bup` itself; as https://github.com/bup/bup says it requires python3.7 or later. Maybe the `bup` package needs to be updated (and filing should be on debian?) ** Affects: kup-backup (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: focal groovy hirsute ** Tags added: focal groovy hirsute -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1916371 Title: recommends a package that has been removed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kup-backup/+bug/1916371/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
