Angel, This looks like either a bad CD burn or a dying CD-ROM drive (ATAPI 40X CD-ROM CD-R/RW drive). Are you able to test again with a different CD, preferably using Ubuntu 7.10? I also noticed that you have both DVD-ROM and CD-ROM drives in the computer. Do you experience different results with the DVD drive?
