MMDB is a coordinate library is designed to assist developers in working
with coordinate files of macromolecular crystal structures. The source
of coordinate information can be either PDB format files, or files
written according to the current mmCIF standard. The library provides a
general low-level tool for unifying coordinate-related operations.
This library is a dependency of other packages such as clipper and coot.
