Public bug reported:
If you use the guided option for repartitioning, in the case where you want to
shrink an existing (windows) partition, and install Ubuntu into the freed
space, there is a slider, which says (something like) "how big do you want the
new partition to be".
To me, that meant "how much space do you want to free up to give to your shiny
new Ubuntu.. i.e. the *new* partition".
What it really means, it turns out, is how big do you want the existing
partition to become.
This is at the stage in the installation where die-hard windows users
about to take the plunge, are most nervous - I'm about to trust Ubuntu
to do what I might have paid money to get Partition Magic to do, so this
is not the time to spread fear, uncertainty and doubt!
