Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.
This installation looks like it was caused by a corrupted file system, or device problems (sdb & sdb5). I notice in the logs Mar 21 00:58:55 lubuntu kernel: [ 8961.608853] print_req_error: I/O error, dev sdb, sector 103058040 Mar 21 00:58:55 lubuntu kernel: [ 8961.608916] sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] tag#0 FAILED Result: hostbyte=DID_NO_CONNECT driverbyte=DRIVER_OK Mar 21 00:58:55 lubuntu kernel: [ 8961.608921] sd 4:0:0:0: [sdb] tag#0 CDB: Read(10) 28 00 06 24 8b 68 00 00 10 00 Mar 21 00:58:55 lubuntu kernel: [ 8961.608924] print_req_error: I/O error, dev sdb, sector 103058280 Mar 21 00:58:55 lubuntu kernel: [ 8961.609098] EXT4-fs warning (device sdb5): ext4_end_bio:323: I/O error 10 writing to inode 293004 (offset 0 size 8192 starting block 9178804) Mar 21 00:58:55 lubuntu kernel: [ 8961.609104] Buffer I/O error on device sdb5, logical block 1109938 Mar 21 00:58:55 lubuntu kernel: [ 8961.609111] Buffer I/O error on device sdb5, logical block 1109939 Your description also provides for it being a user-created error condition. I've marked this bug as incomplete (due hardware issues), if you believe I'm in error please leave a comment as to why, and you can return the status to "New". I suggest you validate the health of your hardware (esp. disk by checking it's SMART status using `smartctl`, `gnome-disks` or whichever tool you prefer), and possibly the integrity of your partition table (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Smartmontools).
