Some diagnosis as follows:
- Loaded a previous snapshot of a Kubuntu 21.04 VM from before 16th March 2021.
- Installed ubiquity.
- Tested whether ubiquity launches.
- Ubiquity launches.
- Then looked at what was upgradable in the release pocket.
- Sequentially upgraded likely culprits, rebooted, and tried to launch ubiquity
after each small update.
