Can't comment on other releases, we only use LTS for our servers. I do have one gutsy computer and when i run ldd on maildrop it doens't list mysql as a linked library. I don't think that really means anything - as of maildrop version 1.8 you have to use courier-auth for mysql support (I think), so it's a completely different setup.
