Unfortunately, youtube-dl doesn't work as expected when install via apt. For example: youtube-dl -x --audio-format mp3 https://www.youtube.com/watch\?v=WDQ-L0eETWw should download the video in the mp3 format, but instead it throws the following error: [youtube] WDQ-L0eETWw: Downloading webpage ERROR: WDQ-L0eETWw: YouTube said: Unable to extract video data It was a fresh package install. Then I uninstalled the package and installed python3-pip. Then installed youtube-dl via pip3 and the above download worked fine. Requesting you to please take a look at this.
