I repeated this install process - install lubuntu hirsute daily (full disk install) - install ubuntu hirsute daily (install alongside)
this time NO ISSUES at all IDENTICAL box, identical thumb-drives; I didn't confirm the testcase on lubuntu was identical (but internet/no-internet, swap/noswap etc shouldn't make a difference given no partition change as it's swapfile..)
