Public bug reported: You have a dual boot with two Ubuntu versions installed, e.g lts version and development version. The kernel in the development version is updated. At reboot the development version will boot with the old kernel. To boot with the new kernel you first have to boot with the Ubuntu version at the top position in the grub menu and run sudo update-grub.
