Looks like the following submission from 2007-11-16 did not get into the
database:
I checked that the gnumeric-plugins-extra were installed before testing.
Then I uninstalled and reinstalled gnumeric (only)
- same problem
Then I uninstalled and reinstalled gnumeric-plugins-extra (only)
- same problem
Then I completely removed gnumeric, gnumeric-common, gnumeric-doc and gnumeric
plugins extra
- same problem
Then I installed gnumeric-gtk (which uninstalls gnumeric and
gnumeric-plugins-extra
- xls import works!
For the moment, I guess we should recommend gnumeric-gtk until the problem with
xls import is solved.
