I've also found that if I go to a full-screen mode application, then
exit the application, my resolution returns to that of the login screen
rather than my set resolution. In fact, at that point my list of
available resolutions includes nearly every "normal" (and a few
abnormal) resolutions between 1920x1600 and 640x480, even though prior
to switching to full-screen my resolution list had only 6 options on it
in a narrower range. As I have several applications I prefer to use
full-screen, this is a major problem, and a nuisance since my panels end
up rearranged in the unusual resolution mode. Selecting different
monitors (mine, similar models, or custom) in displayconfig-gtk has no
effect on this behavior, nor have changes to my xorg.conf to date. Even
if this bug is not immediately fixable, could someone please indicate
where X is reading these alternate resolutions from so we can change
them?
