Well, what they do with this bug report is beyond what you and me can do so 
it's their decision. I think that the official iso of Ubuntu (at least if we 
talk about a Long Term Support Release) should't have this problem. 
Perhaps as they are preparing a new installer that is intended to be used on 
next LTS, they don't pay attention to this.
But that's simply my guess. They will do what they consider better for their 
purposes. You and me too. 
I have several options. Firstly, stay on Ubuntu 20.04 and wait if that is 
solved on 22.04. Secondly, we have at least 2 workarounds to avoid the issue 
and finally, we always could choose another distro on Debian/Ubuntu family or 
on a different taste.
