Public bug reported: As the summary states, after updating to the latest available update- notifier (or maybe update-notifier-common, not sure) and rebooting, the 'x updates can be installed imediately' and 'x of these updates are security updates' lines are gone from the motd. The file 90-updates- available is still present in /etc/update-motd.d/ and has not been modified (as far as I know).
I am using Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS pdate-notifier-common version is 3.192.30.7 I expected to be shown that updates were (or weren't) ready to be installed on login in the MOTD I was not shown this information, regardless of if updates were available or not. ** Affects: update-notifier (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1927160 Title: After updating to latest update-notifier-common, available updates no longer shown in motd To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-notifier/+bug/1927160/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
