Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.
I note the following May 9 10:49:08 ubuntu kernel: [ 858.335540] EXT4-fs warning (device sda3): ext4_dirblock_csum_verify:373: inode #297983: comm dpkg: No space for directory leaf checksum. Please run e2fsck -D. May 9 10:49:08 ubuntu kernel: [ 858.335553] EXT4-fs error (device sda3): ext4_empty_dir:2867: inode #297983: comm dpkg: Directory block failed checksum May 9 10:49:08 ubuntu kernel: [ 858.335560] Aborting journal on device sda3-8. May 9 10:49:08 ubuntu kernel: [ 858.336396] EXT4-fs (sda3): Remounting filesystem read-only Errors detected in sda3 caused the RW file-system to be flipped to RO (read-only) thus install could not continue. Normally this would mean you should check the health of your hardware (https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Smartmontools) I do note sda3 appears to be a virtualbox VM disk; VirtualBox can misbehave if the VMs are given insufficient RAM (Oracle document this as user error), or maybe you didn't provide the recommended disk space.. I suspect a Support site would be more appropriate, eg. https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu. You can also find help with your problem in the support forum of your local Ubuntu community http://loco.ubuntu.com/ or asking at https://askubuntu.com or https://ubuntuforums.org, or for more support options please look at https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/community-support/709 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1927855 Title: Unable to install To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubiquity/+bug/1927855/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
